Groove Tube Velo

Session guitarist Glenn Sciurba (Cher,Chris Issak,Billy Preston,Edger Winter) dropped by PPWP Recording Studio last week. Rick Ambrose met Glenn at a gig in Ventura and invited him to come to his recording session at Perks Place Recording Studio in Westlake Village the following day. Glenn was kind enough to come down and play a killer slide solo on Rick’s tune. Glenn commented on the great sound and asked what we were using. I told him we had the standard SM57 and Sennheiser 421 on Rick’s 57 Fender replica tweed pro built by Sligo. But we also had our new Groove Tube Ribbon/Tube Velo-8 Microphone about six feet back to capture some room sound. That with the Les Paul standard made for an excellent sound.
